Tribal DDB Amsterdam – Waking Up The Industry

Philips has created a device that wakes you up in the morning using light. They call it the Wake-Up Light, go figure, and it works by slowly getting brighter over the course of half an hour, until your room appears to have the sun shinning in. To prove that this product wakes you up more naturally and gives you more energy in the morning, Tribal DDB Amsterdam has created an experiment using the wake-up light.

The experiment is set in the Norwegian town of Longyearbyen, one of the northernmost inhabitable places on the earth. People living there see four months of darkness a year. This long period without light messes with people in a way you can’t imagine. People are constantly tired, they naturally want to sleep longer, and they have a much harder time getting up in the morning. So Tribal decided to give anyone in the town who wanted to be a part of this experiment a free Wake-Up Light.

This is the kind of advertising that turns heads and wins awards. Tribal is not only proving this product’s value, but in the process they are creating a compelling story, and helping make people’s live’s better. Tribal is truly helping move the advertising industry forward.
